New Submission : Homophobic harassment

Walking home holding hands with my girlfriend at night when a man on a bicycle stops on the sidewalk in front of his and leans over to pick something up. Says something inaudible to us as we walk by and since we ignored him he yells “I know you girls are lesbians but you can still talk to men!”. Since it was 2am on an abandoned street we did not engage. Although we laughed it off once we were away from him, the interaction made both of us feel unsafe in our neighborhood. A neighborhood that’s supposed to be safe/friendly for queer women. Unfortunately, this is probably the least harmful thing that’s been said towards us in our neighborhood by men.
