Heather’s story!

I was walking home around dusk (9pm) and went through Dundonald Park. The park is one of my favourite places, even at night. While passing through the centre of the park where a bunch of benches and chess tables are, two men whose voices sounded old, gravelly and (maybe) drunk started calling out to me with comments like “Hey pretty mama! Why don’t you come over here and see me? I’d like to take you home!” and then a comment or two about things they would like to do to me. While they weren’t particularly vulgar and I didn’t feel like they were going to after me, the fact that there were two of them, it was getting dark and I wanted to get home, I just ignored them and kept walking. I hope to be able to speak out next time something like this happens.
